macOS
potluckdb ships two macOS targets: Apple silicon and Intel. Every language SDK is available. The tables use the release matrix to identify each language’s artifact.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”macOS 11 or newer. Apple silicon uses arm64 artifacts. Intel uses x86_64 artifacts. Nothing requires Rosetta.

Install
Section titled “Install”Each language installs from its registry. The package selects the runtime for the machine. The installation pages give each command.
Go links the static library inside its module and needs no archive. C++ links the C SDK archive’s shared runtime library. Both use the storage library from that archive. Dart’s build hook downloads it.
Swift and Objective-C share potluckdb-swift. Its runtime xcframework contains both architectures in one macOS slice. Its macOS storage xcframework contains the storage library for both architectures.
Quickstart
Section titled “Quickstart”Each quickstart is self-contained. Two databases represent a laptop and phone sharing one remote. They modify the same row before either synchronizes, then reach the same state. See Concepts for these terms.
The shortest route here uses Python:
- Install the package.
- Save the quickstart as
quickstart.py. - Run
python quickstart.py.
It prints Use query for this statement. and then quickstart: ok.
Every language shipped here has a quickstart: Python, Node, Go, Rust, Swift, Dart, Java and Kotlin, .NET, C++, Objective-C.
Analytics
Section titled “Analytics”Analytical reads use DuckDB. No core package contains it. Python, Node and Rust install it through a package or crate feature.
Other languages load the library listed for this platform on the analytics engine page, with its URL and digest. Name that library in the open options. Each language’s installation page gives the exact line.
Verified by the release
Section titled “Verified by the release”Each release candidate builds every target in the table and passes every required check of the release matrix before promotion. The packages that this page names are the packages that the release tested.
Each release also runs framework quickstarts on this platform: Electron, Tauri, Qt, Flutter, .NET MAUI. Each framework page describes its verification.
